I'm not good at rushing. I feel like I've been that way most of my life, my family waiting on me as they piled in the car, employers asking me to drop everything for a rush job or quick turn. It's just not me and our society thrives on it.
I am good at planning though. Knowing I need more time, I get up with a couple hours to spare before any appointments. I try to leave space between to dos and obligations rather than slamming them all together on one day or one afternoon. Too much will wear me out or make me anxious. I will not be my best self for clients and for the people in my life.
As people ask me about my intentions or resolutions for 2018, I'm honestly still getting there. This week I've been taking time to process 2017. Before moving forward, there needs to be reflection and release even. Why are we in such a rush? My intention is to take the month of January to evaluate what worked for me last year, so I can be clear on what to manifest in the year ahead. Each morning I take some time to journal on this and keep my pen and paper handy for additional thoughts that may pop up during the day.
I offer up this intention in case you need more time to process as well. To take time to listen to your intuition and your true needs for the year ahead. There is no rush. Below are some questions to inspire your reflection and meditation on 2017 and 2018:
What do I have to be grateful for that happened in 2017?
What lessons did I learn in 2017?
What do I want to grow and expand on from last year?
What do I want to release?
What truly nourishes me?
What self care rituals do I want to maintain or cultivate more of?
What do I want to manifest in the year ahead?
What are my dreams for 2018?
