I love to spend the holiday season making special gifts for friends and buying beautiful and thoughtful creations from local businesses, artists, and so on. My family is pretty used to get weird little bottles of salves, giant batches of granola, and homemade candles at this point, whether they like it or not! With that said, I am a huge fan of gift guides, so I wanted to share a little holiday gift guide and some ideas to DIY for your loved ones this holiday season.
1. Give the gift of nourishment
Know somebody who could use a hand with meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking (um, everyone)? Consider a gift certificate for Nourish in home chefs! You could buy someone a week's worth of meals, how sweet is that?
2. Tasty treats
Everyday Adventure Treats are locally made with high quality, real ingredients! They would be great stocking stuffers or buy a whole box for someone who is always on the go and could use something healthy to snack on.
3. Natural skincare
I love love love natural skincare and DIY skin treats of all sorts. Fat and The Moon is one of my faves, but you could also make something special like a salve or some oil for a friend. Mountain Rose Herbs stocks everything you need to make something special and offers tons of recipes and ideas for holiday gift making!
4. Give the gift of massage/bodywork
Who doesn't need a massage? Giving the gift of massage or bodywork seems like the ultimate treat to me. I will be offering gift certificates for the holidays for my services, but I also highly recommend Julie Mirise in Bloomington, IN for massage (swedish, prenatal, and abdominal). She's the bees knees.
5. Get fricken' cozy
Knit a scarf, make a someone mug, or whip up some chai mix for some serious winter coziness! No knitting skills or ceramics skills? Why not find a local artist and commission something special such as CMT pottery?
6. Ayurvedic haircare
Did I mention I love natural skin and body care? Under Luna is the ultimate hair care treat. Whether you're trying to grow it out or just give it some love, this Ayurveda inspired shampoo is my jam.
7. Self Care essentials
I can't get enough cookbooks. There are so many good ones out there! One of my faves is Vegetarian Ventures new cookbook Vegetarian Heartland. Make the peanut butter trail mix cookies asap!
9. ALL your magic needs
Sunrise Hive is my local one stop shop for all things magical! They have crystals, incense, tarot decks, beeswax candles, and more. You can also buy a gift certificate for a tarot reading with Daun, the magic woman herself!
